Influences

Herb Brooks has had many influences throughout his life.  His father pushed him at a young age to be successful.  When Brooks was cut from the Olympic Hockey team in the 1960's, he wanted sympathy from his father but he never received it.  His father had the response that influenced Herb to change his whole ideology about the game of hockey for the rest of his life.  His father explained to him that his coach cut the right person and he had to learn to live with that.  Other influences that he had in his life would be his wife Patti who stuck by his side through the years he was on the road of his hockey career, by Patti always giving moral support Herb could feel that he always had her by his side no matter what happened.
